Really nice jacket
A new favourite! Nice and lightweight; but warm. Stylish enough to wear in the city. The olive with gold trim is a great colour match
Our classic lightweight down jacket has been updated. With a fresh design aesthetic and recycled construction, the highly packable Microlight Alpine Jacket is the go-to system for rapid warmth when the temperature drops.
The redesigned Microlight Alpine Jacket takes the versatile, easy-pack insulation of the established classic and dials in some intelligent new upgrades. It features a combination of zoned micro and nano baffles to increase core warmth without inflating weight or bulk - and the jacket’s ethical credentials are now equally sound. With 30D Pertex® Quantum ripstop nylon, as well as GRS-certified, 700 fill power P.U.R.E recycled hydrophobic down, the Microlight Alpine Jacket now features fully recycled shell, insulation and lining. Practical and user-friendly, both as an everyday jacket and as a mountain layer, additional features include three harness-compatible pockets, and a down-filled hood with stiffened peak.
With its refined styling, improved down distribution and ethical upgrades, the Microlight Alpine Jacket is the definitive multi-purpose down jacket

Really happy with this jacket. I bought in an XL and a tad big but I can layer if needed. The sleeves are a tad long but you can tuck your hands up in the cold wind which I found useful. It's sheds some small down a bit at the start but after a few wears it goes away. Has a separate bag to store which I know I will lose. I really like the jacket and it will be my go to winter jacket.
Great jacket. Light and comfortable
Absolutely love it, not as bulky as other jackets that I have. It’s warm enough and packs away easily.
It's s nice jacket eh. Looooooong arms, as others have said they may need to be taken up (Twin Needle - the folks that were the Macpac repair department back in the day will do it, but they're always busy as so expect it to take a few weeks)
More boxy cut than my Macpac icefall, and warmer too, but it is a narrow baffle jacket and they aren't as warm as large baffles in general.
The hood is the best hood of any jacket I have ever worn, truly spectacular.
Decent down hydrophobic down, pertex shell, acceptable build quality, comfortable cut, reasonable weight, outstanding hood. For an entry level technical down jacket (as opposed to a Kathmandu general everyday jacket, or super lightweight highloft technical jacket) it gets the job done for a reasonable price and unless you're going really cold places or need to trim absolutely every last gram (which you really in all probability you don't - even if you have fallen down the ultralight rabbithole and lost all perspective of what actually survives more than a couple of trips in the NZ backcountry) then it's pretty hard to go wrong with one of these.
4 stars - sleeves one baffle shorter would get 5 and Dwights are always great to deal with.
