This ultralight and packable sleep mat is designed to reduce heat loss through radiation and convection, giving it an unbeatable warmth-to-weight ratio perfect for lightweight adventures in challenging environments.
For mountain expeditions where every gram matters, the Ionosphere 5 is ultralight and packable, yet loaded with the necessary tech to keep you warm in tough conditions. The TILT reflective film within the insulation reduces radiant heat loss, while the Stratus™ R insulation traps air to lessen heat loss through convection, ensuring you can recharge for tomorrow even when the temperature plunges.
The tapered mummy shape is economical on weight, keeping pack size to a minimum. Oversized outer chambers ensure you stay central on the mat as you sleep, and the soft-finish fabric features a graduated grip print to reduce sleeping bag slip during the night. Inflation and deflation are quick and easy thanks to the low-profile two-way valve and pump sack.
The Ionosphere 5 is built using 100% recycled insulation, recycled fabric and a fluorocarbon-free DWR, and offers a superb warmth-to-weight ratio which won’t hold you back.
R-Value: 4.8
Your sleep mat’s R-value is an indication of how well it will resist heat loss. A higher R-value means it will insulate you more effectively from the ground underneath, and will be better suited to cold environments.
Stratus™ R
Resilient synthetic insulation developed with 100% recycled post-consumer material. Designed to trap the maximum amount of air possible, Stratus™ R boasts superior warmth for its weight, retains warmth when wet, and dries quickly.
What is TILT technology?
A radical, heat retaining tech that works like an emergency blanket reflecting heat back towards your body, while maintaining breathability and comfort. Boosting thermal efficiency, it keeps you warm when the temperature plummets.
Fluorocarbon-Free Product
This product no longer contains fluorocarbons. Whether that’s in a DWR, on the zips, the threads or in the fabric. Find out more about how we’re cutting fluorocarbons from our gear.
