Learn how to cook with Stainless Steel!
I almost bought the ceramic MSR skillet - it’s a little lighter and obviously is non stick…
However I went for the stainless as I’ve seen so many non stick camping pans in the past gather scratches and have their coatings worn off pretty quickly.
Pros
Has a nice thick base to spread the heat from a camping stove.
Virtually indestructible - MSR build quality and can be scrubbed with a metal pad for cleaning, and use metal spikes / knifes / utensils in the pan.
Food cooked in it tastes great - develops colour and flavour quickly
Cons
30% heavier than the Ceramic skillet - however probably better heat distribution
Handle doesn’t fold (it is removable but then up to you not to lose it!)
Needs to be hot when cooking and well oiled - get yourself read up on cooking with a thin steel pan and you’ll save some headaches
