I researched 2 person lightweight hiking tents and read numerous ratings of various brands. Decided on the Dwights Outdoor branded Explore 2 Ultralight Hiking Tent V2. I am very happy with the choice. The fly has a higher rain rating than most, Can get two standard sized sleeping mats inside to comfortably sleep 2 with zipped entrances on each side for easy access in or out. Packs fit under the fly wings on each side and can be accessed from inside via each zipped door. Tent came with 8 Y aluminum pegs plus 6 long cords for tie downs when wind gets up. I have bought 6 longer aluminum pegs for windy conditions as the small pegs (150mm) included may not have enough bite to hold the tent in wind. I also purchased the matching tent footprint which will save the floor of the liner from ground damage. Was surprised at how small the volume of tent plus footprint took up in my pack so that a bonus. Weight is a fraction over 2kg.

We used the Explore 3 walking the Timber Trail, 4 days 3 nights. The Explore 3 was easy to pitch and provided ample space for 2 adults and packs. We experienced all sorts of weather from strong sun to long consistent periods of rain. The Explore 3 was 100% waterproof and the fly took about 30 minutes to dry off the next day. The explore 3 is not the easiest tent to get in and out of, especially in the wet. For what we used the tent for it was it was an excellent choice.
Great tent, very lightweight , quick and easy to put up. Tried it out on the lawn with my 2 daughters and dog can't wait to try it in camp sites this season. Didn't buy the ground sheet at first but purchased after as feel need to look after floor as quite light.
