The Group Shelter 2 is designed as an emergency shelter for 1-2 people, to be used when the storm hits or for planned stops in bad weather.

Made using a light-weight and windproof polyester fabric, support is provided by the users within. Features include waterproof seats, weather-resistant ventilation windows and recesses in the roof of the shelter allow poles to be used as braces.

The Group Shelter comes in a safety orange colour and features reflective piping for high-visibility.

      Worth the purchase!

      Purchased this as we needed additional group shelters for our planned snowcraft course, and I figured this would be a helpful piece of gear to own for future trips.

      Easy to use, and provided instant warmth while we sat down for lunch on Ruapehu. Could fit packs inside if you huddled up tightly, but we just left our packs outside while we ate.

      Emergency Kit

      Not used but just the ticket for emergency back up on a recent 5 day winter hike. Peace of mind recommended by a SAR trainer.

      A bit heavier than expected - weighs 380g on my scales, vs spec weight of 320g.

      My kitchen scales are not calibrated, but check weighing using other items they are ok. I guess on the other hand a bit more weight likely means more durable. Not used yet.

      Otherwise looks fine as expected thanks. Packed size cylindrical 20cm long by 11cm diameter.

      I intend to attach a light line to avoid losing it to the wind.
