A brand-wide winner is the wrong comparison

Both current ranges contain different products for different temperatures, users and carried loads. Choose two exact bags that match the same trip, then compare like evidence.

Use a common comparison sheet

• Declared temperature standard and the exact rating being compared.
• User length, shoulder room, shape and zip layout.
• Fill type, fill amount where stated and total bag weight.
• Packed dimensions using the same measurement basis.
• Moisture exposure, drying and care requirements.
• Current stock, price and after-sales support.

Keep the mat constant

Compare bags with the same intended sleeping mat and shelter. Changing the insulation underneath can make a brand comparison meaningless.

Reject unlike numbers

Do not rank a comfort value against a limit value, or one test method against another without explaining the difference. If the labels are not comparable, say so.
